Closing Remarks

Colleagues and Friends,

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The World Hypertension League Regional Congress 2011 in conjunction with the 13th International Symposium on Hypertension and Related Diseases has now come to a close.

The meeting was a great success with over 202 faculty members from 15 countries and around 2,000 delegates from 20 countries worldwide.

Overview of the origin of the delegates

Over the 3.5 days of the conference, 33 scientific sessions were organized, including 2 debates, 3 case studies, 7 morning courses and 5 joint sessions etc. Totally, 390 papers were accepted by the conference and were published in the supplement of the International Journal of Cardiology. Nine young authors from 5 countries were awarded as the Best Poster Awards, Best Oral Awards and Young Investigators Awards separately.

I hope and believe that when we go back to our different places of work, we shall all engage ourselves with renewed enthusiasm and dedication. We shall keep moving onward to still greater successes in helping our people to be free from the hazard of hypertension!
